First Day of School!!

We are almost done with our first day of school but Homecoming is well underway!!  This year's theme is musicals and each class has selected a musical to represent them in their mock rock, t shirt design, and their floats (remember the parade is back again this year--bigger and better than ever).  Seniors are going to rock the house with a newer musical "Rock of Ages", Juniors are gonna cut "Footloose", the sophomores are going old school with "Grease", and the Freshmen are keeping it wholesome with "High School Musical".  Each day from 9/28 until October 5th students will be participating in a variety of competitions as well as community service events.  There will be a food drive to benefit local food pantries, a penny war to help fund both class events and the Spartan Angel Tree Project, and a portion from each dance ticket sold will go to benefit local familes as well.  This year classes will be dressing up to win points for their grade with our dress up day competition.  Our days are:
Thursday 9/27—Class Color Day—t shirt designs will be judged that day
Monday 10/1 –Sports Day—dress to represent your favorite sports team
Tuesday 10/2—Western Day—It’s all country and western—jeans, plaid, big buckles and big trucks.  Cowboy hats pending approval…
Wednesday 10/3—Formal Wear—dress to impress—think job interview—etc
Thursday 10/4—Favorite Musical Character—from your musical or another of your choice—become the character
Friday 10/5—Class Colors Unite--

each day 2nd hour teachers will count the students dressed up in their classes and the class with the biggest percentage of dressed up students wins!!
Food Drive Rules: to meet the needs of the community, all food items will count as one point.  Packages may NOT be broken down into smaller units to count as more (ie. a box of oatmeal is one--not 12 individual packages).  In addition all baby food will count as double, baby formula and diapers will count as 5 points per package.  Advisers will be displaying the food in the different pod areas and keeping count.  Food drive counts as triple points and ends 10/3

Penny a point money will be collected by class advisors and kept secured inthe main office.  All monies must be collected by 10/3.

t shirts with the dress up days will be available for $10 for students.  All student council members should plan on buying or working off a t shirt.

Dance tickets for the Homecoming Dance will go on sale soon.  Please check back for additional details.
